Snow Day

We survived Thanksgiving and had a nice visit with Dad and Lynn. Leslie told Dad that they were welcome to stay and Dad replied that they would leave on Monday morning, depending on the weather. Leslie promptly replied that she would pray for snow! An hour later when we headed out to church we went outside to find it snowing.

The good news was that Dad and Lynn were were able to leave as scheduled on Monday. The bad news was that Monday evening it snowed quite a bit. It made my trip home a bit difficult, but it made for an unexpected evening of play for the kids. All the kids except Mikey and JJ got bundled up and went out in the snow. Leslie and I joined them and demonstrated some of the finer points of snow ball throwing! It was great fun. I took some pictures as well.

I woke up this morning to icy roads and weather reports showing horrible road conditions. When I saw a traffic chopper showing cars spun out on the hill that I have to drive down to get to the train, I got nervous. All of the kids schools decided to "close" for the day and my office also decided to close as well. I had to get word out to my employees and monitor our systems, but it was nice to be able to work from home in my slippers. The kids spent quite a bit of time outside in the snow before coming back in to warm up. They decided to watch the movie "Snow Day" for obvious reasons. They're all hoping for another snow day tomorrow, but I doubt it. I'm just hoping that Leslie doesn't pray for snow again....

That looks like soo much fun! Sophie has never been to the snow before. We'll have to try and remedy that.
