Last night I felt pretty good. I was trying to leave work at the end of the day and got held up again as usual. People always seem to have some last minute question that they just have to talk to me about at the end of the day. Anyway, the delay caused me to miss my usual bus and so I had to scramble to get to the train on time. I wound up a block from the train with 1 minute to get there along with 5 college students. As soon as the light changed we all took off in a mad dash for the train. Somehow, the old stride came back and I slid into a comfortable run and pulled away from the pack and made it to the train. Yeah, that felt good hopping onto the training and watching that batch of students breathlessly run up behind me! I should have known that was too good. I got home to a crazy rush. Leslie had already taken Mikey and JJ to church. They will be away all weekend at a Life Teen retreat. Dominic is also having a Junior High kids retreat at church this weekend, except that his retreat finished this afternoon. To top if off, Sarah and Chris were running around and knocked a desk over onto Chris's hand. His thumb was hurting him and so Leslie wound up having to take him in to urgent care for an X-ray. They weren't sure if his thumb is broken or not and so they gave him a brace to isolate the wrist and thumb.
I woke up this morning feeling last nights run. Sara and I had to go work at the University of WA "Huskie" stadium removing about 20,000 seat cushions with our church for a fund raising project. We worked our tails off, but we had a great time. We spent the remainder of the day helping clean up the house and catching up with all the chores that we never seem to keep up with during the busy week. We're trying to get everything cleaned up in anticipation of Dad and Lynne coming to visit for Thanksgiving. Maybe there'll be time to sleep in tomorrow....
